www.expand2web.com – wordpress is a powerful tool not only for blogs but for managing small business websites too. This video walks you through how to do this in less than five minutes. Its a very straightforward and easy way to get the power of wordpress behind your web site. bluehost is the hosting provider I’m using, and this will still apply to any hosting provider that offers cpanel and Fantastico.

    Audio too low, moving on…

  2. expand2web says:

Thanks for the feedback ThinkBachs. I just tested this out and the audio is clear and easy to hear on my computer with the volume dial set at medium.

I’d welcome feedback from others. Let me know how the audio volume is and I’ll re-record if it is too low. Thanks.

What if I want to upgrade to a newer version? Now version 7 is out for Wordpress and I would like to upgrade…

  8. expand2web says:

@dismissedsheep – the installation process I show here is exactly the same for WordPress 2.7.

Once you have it installed, the WordPress Admin interface looks different in 2.7. It is actually cleaner and easier to use in my opinion.

Didn’t you need to create a database for that first I need help with that something about editing wp-config in notepad aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaghhhhhh I was told there would be no math

  12. paulprice85 says:

Please excuse my ignorance I’m new to this… so I need a web host like bluehost? and download wordpress? Then I upload the files from the download that bluehost needs?

  13. peace153 says:

Thanks. I think WORDPRESS is really the best solution for creating a website.

    wordpressbeginners. com

Excelent Video nice intruccion!!!!! 5 Stars =)

  15. cutis1000 says:

What if we don’t use bluehost???

    This is useless!

  16. expand2web says:

Curtis, you could follow this with any hosting provider that uses SimpleScripts.

Which hosting provider are you using? Do you know if they offer SimpleScripts or Fantastico for WordPress installation?

  17. expand2web says:

paulprice – if you get a good hosting provider like bluehost then you won’t need to download WordPress. You just use their one-click installer like I show in the video and it installs everything for you.

  18. expand2web says:

    Thank you machinchi!

  19. expand2web says:

Nope, you don’t need to do any of that. The SimpleScripts one-click install takes care of creating the database and modifying your wp-config file for you.

  20. expand2web says:

    Thank you badchic81!

  21. expand2web says:

I’ve used BlueHost, 1&1 and GoDaddy. BlueHost made it the easiest to install WordPress. 1&1 is a good hosting provider, but they don’t have the WordPress thing figured out properly. I don’t like GoDaddy hosting.

I’m going to find out as I’m doing this work voluntarily. I will let you know. Thanks for the f/up!
