Tech With Dinjin201 – Tech Tips – Episode 1: Here, i will show you how to use a USB Flash Drive as RAM… A few Notes about this: 1. Flash memory can only be written to an x number of times (about 10 million rewrites). this means that after 1-2 years, your “flash-ram” will stop working, and you will have to buy another memory stick… 2. The second thing i wanted to mention is that you need to use ATLEAST a 512 MB Flash Drive for this. I know i used a 128 MB one in the video, but that’s all i had empty for the moment… and as you saw, it didnt do much. 3. Good Luck, Please subscribe, and all comments are appreciated. you can have multiple paging files in different locations. Unless you set a paging file on your HDD (basically, just dont tamper with the other settings) nothing will happnen.

    I do warn you that for the stability of windows, it is recommended to use a paging file.

    Who’s using win 7 beta? lol IM NOT :)

    It is windows xp. In windows VISTA or 7 you can use a built in feature called READYBOOST. google it – its 10 times easier to set up than what i have.

  3. dinjin201 says:

    No… I just made my windows xp look like vista. You can, however, use a virtualization suite like Virtualbox (free) that lets you run a second operating system in a window (and install programs to it and run things in it that wouldnt run in vista)

    You do need a pretty powerful computer to run VirtualBox

    @dinjin201 Hi, surprised to read a reply. It is probably just coincidence, because of the age of the PC, but I think it at least contributed in it, accelerated it.
    Can not say that for sure, just wanted to inform the people, no critizism to you, was just a warning to do it.
    didnt want to be mean or badly critize you!

  6. dinjin201 says:

    Oh, in that case, if u can use it as a pen drive, it should work for this purpose as well :)

  7. dinjin201 says:

    Hey, its no problem at all. at the moment, you seem to be the only person to have this issue, so i’m not sure why. It may have caused an acceleration, but i wont know for sure. I have 3 machines running at home using this trick and nothing has happened yet – one of them was purchased in 2002.

    The criticism is good. I’d rather be cirticized and realize i made a mistake then lie to the thousands who’ve watched this video. Im here to help, not harm.

  22. dinjin201 says:

    @starsky1313:

    In my opinion, don’t bother. From the feedback I’ve gotten, this usually helps for computers that are 2003 and earlier. Hope this helps :)

  23. dinjin201 says:

    @albors91:
    it should work. If I’m not mistaken, xp limits you to 4098, but it should work.
